IS IT RECOGNISED INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes. Reunion Island is a French overseas département. A civil marriage performed here carries the full legal weight of a marriage in France, recognised across the European Union and in the vast majority of countries worldwide.
WHAT DOES IT REQUIRE FOR NON-RESIDENTS?
A civil marriage in France requires the publication of banns (a 10-day administrative notice period) and requires at least one partner to be resident or have family ties in the commune. Many international couples choose a symbolic ceremony on the island — deeply personal and meaningful — combined with a civil ceremony at home.

I grew up on Reunion Island. I know its hidden corners, its extraordinary light at golden hour, the photographers who can capture a lava field like no one else, the florists who work only with local blooms.
Before becoming a wedding planner in 2015, I spent nearly a decade as a tour manager for major concert tours across Europe and Canada. I understand logistics under pressure. I know what it means to make every detail count.
With over 200 weddings and elopements behind me, I bring both the precision of a professional and the warmth of someone who genuinely loves what she does — and loves this island.
